Timber Ridge Baptist Church

Bedford, VA

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." Amen.  Matthew 28:18-20 KJV

Welcome to the web site of Timber Ridge Baptist Church.  No other words could better describe our purpose as a church or explain what we believe than these few verses of scripture.  This is what Jesus Christ said to His Apostles as He was directing them to begin their work and ministry for Him. First, Jesus assured them that God the Father had given Him ALL POWER in heaven and on earth. At the end of this statement, He gave the length of His reign, ALWAYS, even through the end of the world.  In the middle of these two great assurances, Jesus gave the simple command with three steps, commonly referred to as the Great Commission.

We believe that we should evangelize and make disciples of all kinds of people, leading them to realize that Jesus alone has the power to forgive their sins, that they should repent or turn from their sin, and to commit their life to Jesus.  Second, we believe that those saved through Jesus Christ should then be scripturally baptized, publicly attesting to their salvation, identifying with Jesus Christ's death (submersion) and resurrection (rise) to pay for their sins and defeat eternal death.  We then believe we should train disciples in knowledge of the Bible, God's complete Word, to provide effective service for Him.  We at Timber Ridge are human, and therefore not perfect, as no human is.  We do, however, hold to the truth that God's Will through His Word is perfect.

Do you know for sure that you are going to Heaven when you die?  ALL who are not saved are going to spend eternity in Hell.  No one gets to Heaven by their own works, by who they know or are related to, or by being 'good'.  It is only possible by a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  If you are not sure of your salvation, please see some of what the Apostle Paul said in his letter to the Romans, commonly called the Romans Road.

We hope you will find our Web site informative and inspirational. Please contact us with questions or comments, and if possible join us in person as we serve and worship the Lord together.
